Per Biography, Cardi's real name is Belcalis Almanzar (although, given her status, it's likely that even those who knew her before the fame think of her as Cardi B at this point). Cardi's fascination with money likely stemmed from growing up poor and allegedly becoming a part of "The Bloods" gang during her teenage years.

Per Vogue, after Cardi graduated from high school, she moved in with her boyfriend when her mother kicked her out of her family home for fighting with her sister. Soon after, she dropped out of community college after failing her English class, her boyfriend became physically abusive, and she got fired from the Amish Market where she worked. This led her to "stripping," she said, where she "made enough money to move out."

When Ellen DeGeneres asked Cardi in 2018 whether she liked stripping, Cardi responded, "Hell yes I did!" (viaHollywood Life), explaining how "it paid my bills. Got me my own apartment. It got me my boob job." We must give Cardi her props — the girl knows how to keep it real.

While it's not clear exactly how much money Cardi B has made off her social media accounts, she almost certainly has her social media accounts to thank for her success. "Cardi B came onto our radar via social media," Mona Scott-Young,executive producer for VH1's "Love & Hip Hop," told E! News. "Her personality just exploded on screen and she had all of these Cardi-isms that made her so unique that we just knew she was going to be a star."Therefore, it's possible that without her social media following, Cardi never would have been discovered at all.

Not only did her debut song "Bodak Yellow" start out her immense music career in 2017, but it made rap history by making her the first female rapper in 20+ years to hit No. 1 status without sharing song credits with another artist. So, while we can't say exactly how much Cardi made from these commercials, it's safe to say it's A LOT — especially considering her commenting to People that "Pepsi's money."

In 2016, before Cardi B was even all that well known, she endorsed the New York-based lingerie (and sex toy) store Romantic Depot by doing radio and television ads which, of course, got re-aired in New York when she became way more famous in 2017, per Yahoo!. It's unclear how much she made from her work with Romantic Depot, but it's safe to say the girl who's all about the money wouldn't do it for free.

The most impressive part, however, was that Cardi earned (and, likely, still does) as much as $20,000 every month just from wearing clothes by Fashion Nova (per Vox). Don't we all wish we could be paid to wear such cute clothes?!

In 2021, Cardi partnered with Starco Brands to create "Whip Shots," which is exactly what it sounds like — whipped cream in a can that's infused with "ultra-premium vodka" (perThe Spirits Business). Whip Shots come in three different flavors — caramel, mocha, and vanilla — and will begin to become available across the U.S. in 2022.
