Offense is at the core of a game in EA Sports College Football 25, but you'll need to use strategies from the best playbooks to break through tough defenses. Playbooks consist of different plays for your team to execute while they try to drive down the field and score. Since many different teams all have unique Playbooks, you need to pick one that best suits your style of offense.
The best offensive teams in College Football 25 combine diverse passing and running plays together in a Playbook to make their scoring strategy unpredictable. Strong Playbooks have a play for every situation as you pick up on the weaknesses of the opposing team. It is much easier to call the right play at the right time if your Playbook has a specialty for a particular scenario that occurs within a game.
One example of a team's specialty is one that uses an Empty Backfield, which fully commits five players to a passing play and risks a quarterback's prolonged safety for a chance at gaining extra yards when an opponent's defense doesn't cover receivers well.

College Football 25 Review: A Fresh Take Held Back By A Weird UI
College Football 25 is a largely successful return to the world of college football, held back from perfection by some clunky user interface.
Offense Playbook 1 - Air Force
Have Versatile And Balanced Gameplans
Any Playbooks for military academies, like the Air Force or Army teams, are focused on consistent formations without much deviation. This creates a sense of consistency for your offense through disciplined plays with flexibility that relies on your quick decision-making. The Air Force Offense Playbook has the most focused strategy using this philosophy compared to other teams, like the Navy or Army.
Most plays in this Playbook use Flexbone formations, incredibly traditional sets with three receivers and a tight end with the quarterback right next to the center. A QB in this formation will take a snap directly, usually for a hard-nosed running play or short pass. This Playbook has some Pistol and Shotgun formations for additional passing gambits, but they are straightforward gameplans meant to be executed fast.
Offense Playbook 2 - Arizona
Overwhelm Opponents With A Refined Passing Game
The Arizona Playbook focuses on passing plays out of Shotgun or Singleback formations. However, unlike most teams who use the same formations, Arizona runs a tight end with a Trips group of three receivers on one side of the field. This gives you five receivers at all times for a pass when including the running back, so you have five different routes being run to all try and break through an opponent's defense.
One of the biggest changes in College Football 25 compared to Madden titles is how the college football field is much wider than those used by the professional league. This makes it easier to spread enemy defenses thin as you spread receivers across the field through audibles or other adjustments. Arizona's Playbook synergizes well with this strategy since the team's offense revolves around constant passing formations.
Offense Playbook 3 - Alabama
Favor Explosive Plays To Score Fast
It should come as no surprise that Alabama's Offensive Playbook is considered one of the best due to the team's multiple National Championship wins over many years. Like Arizona, this Playbook runs many plays out of the Shotgun formation. What makes this team's strategy different is more diversity in how receivers line up, giving you extra flexibility against defensive coverage.
The Alabama Playbook relies on deep receiver routes to make explosive plays, aiming for huge gains of 10–20 yards per play rather than making steady progress toward a first down. This scheme can be incredibly risky, especially if your team lacks the top players in College Football 25 talented enough to run it. Make sure you practice running a few of these delicate plays to maximize their effectiveness before a game.
Offense Playbook 4 - UNLV
Create A Tricky Run Game To Confuse Opponents
UNLV, or the University of Las Vegas, has a unique offensive Playbook compared to many other teams due to how it approaches the run game. The plays in this Playbook focus on running a triple option out of Shotgun formations, which can create confusion for the enemy team. Normally, Shotgun formations are to create a passing play, so running the ball out of it can throw off even your most disciplined opponent.
As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Ace Madden, the variety of option plays in this Playbook can help you punch into the end zone when you need the points. A diligent focus on strong plays is great, but sometimes, you must use an unorthodox approach to win. Due to the fast-paced nature of this Playbook, some fast players are required to improve the reliability of its plans.
Thankfully, you don't have to worry about relying on the run all the time, or at least to the same degree as the Air Force Playbook. Many option plays from UNLV have a pass attached to them as a last resort if your opponent sees what you're doing and tries to counter your strategy. Like many Shotgun Playbooks, plenty of plays are simple passes to help cover your weaknesses.
Don't be afraid to go for these risky options if you see a rival start reacting to your gameplan. You may be able to tell when this happens, such as when an opponent quickly adjusts linebackers in College Football 25 in response to your formation.
Playbook 5 - Multiple
Take Professional Plays To The College Battlefield
Multiple is a Playbook that doesn't belong to any college team but rather integrates strategies from the Madden series into this game. Familiar favorites from the professional league should be here, from powerful Shotgun formations to dominant Pistol and I-form organizations. Each of these provides a reliable run-and-pass game that can be much more potent than many offensive Playbooks in the game.
