Many fans were aware of the fact that King Kong and Godzilla would be clashing in an upcoming film as the announcement came in 2016, however, every moviegoer who stayed beyond rolling credits of Skull Island is now fully aware of the event coming to the big screen.

When Kong concluded, Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson’s James Conrad and Mason Weaver characters were in a holding cell within the Monarch company. It was Corey Hawkins’ Houston Brooks character who introduced the other characters and audiences to the Godzilla and King Kong crossover.

On the following slides, we take a look at the Godzilla monsters teased in Kong‘s post-credits scene – Monsters that we may see in the saga’s next chapter, Godzilla: King of Monsters.

Mothra

Mothra is a fan-favorite among those who root for Godzilla.

Having appear in a dozen titles across various mediums, Mothrais the original flying opponent to Godzilla. She originally introduced the idea of a monster being one of the “good guys.” Mothrais always ready to throw down and frequently finds herself involved with fights but, historically, has rarely left too many marks on her opponents.

However, when Mothradies, she tends to leave some larva behind which can take her place.

Rodan

The Charizard-looking monster which was shown in the black and white images at the end of Kong was Godzilla opponent Rodan.

Rodanhas appeared in over half of a dozen titles and is a well-received flying monster which resembles a pterodactyl. Rodanhas served as an enemy to Godzilla on several occasions but is, quite often, an ally to the scaly one. While Rodanhas never been crucial to Godzilla stories, he earns favoritism from his ability to be a supporting role to Godzilla’s lead.

Ghidorah

Ghidorahis one of the top ranking Godzilla monsters and was clearly revealed when what looked like a three-headed dragon took the screen during Skull Island‘s post-credits scene.

Ghidorahis a golden dragon which has appeared in just shy of 10 titles. He is Godzilla best known foe and is considered by most to be his arch-enemy. If being a three-headed golden dragon wasn’t enough, Ghidorahups his appearance game when he becomes “Mecha-King Ghidorah” is the Heiseiseries.

The addition of Ghidorahto the Kong vs. Godzilla franchise will certainly up the anticipation ranking.
